Our monthly luncheon meetings will again be held at the TEXO BUILDING starting Thursday 1 May 2025 at noon.

Our speaker for the meeting will be Tom Hagan who served as a Marine Air Support Control Officer in Vietnam between October 1967 and December 1968. Tom’s biography follows below.

Tom Hagan grew up in Denton, Texas and was commissioned from the PLC Program following graduation from UT Austin in 1966.  From Basic School, his assigned MOS was 6708, Air Support Control Officer, and he was ordered to MCAS El Toro for advanced training.  Hagan served in that capacity in Vietnam from October of ’67 to December of ’68.  Hagan completed his tour with the Marines at MCAS Cherry Point in the summer of ’69.

Hagan spent the first decade after completing his Marine Corps obligation working for elected officials in Washington and Austin as well as in various statewide campaigns.  He began a nearly 30-year career in the electric utility industry in 1980, retiring in mid-2008.

Tom is an avid bow hunter and has just stepped away from 15 years of involvement with the Military History Center at UNT.

Tom now divides his time between his home in Dallas and property in West Texas.
